Terms of Use

These terms govern access to Saratoga Residents Directory, a private reference to Santa Clara County and California record sources. By using the pages, you accept the terms below. Do not use the pages if you do not accept them.

1. What Saratoga Residents Directory Is

Saratoga Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, court and vital-record channels, and historical directory collections concerning Saratoga, Santa Clara County, and California. It hosts no government record and is not affiliated with a City, County, State, court, library, or other custodian.

2. Rules for Lawful Use

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use them or information reached through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person.
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
  • Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, housing, insurance, or tenant screening.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the pages.

California's Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 et seq., governs requests to the public custodian, not permission to misuse a record after access.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search provider, is a consumer report. None of it may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Portals and Providers

County and State portals, libraries, courts, archives, and third-party or sponsored search tools have their own terms, prices, privacy practices, and availability. Saratoga Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, results, data handling, or changes.

5. No Warranty

The pages are supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a statement is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that a linked portal will function or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limit

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of the pages or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record found through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operators from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Material

The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Republishing a full page or systematically copying the site is not allowed.

9. Changes to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version here. Continued use after a revision means that the updated wording is accepted.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, abuses the pages, or threatens site operation. That action may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Public-record requests concerning Saratoga or Santa Clara County are governed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 et seq. Privacy rights for covered businesses are addressed by the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., where applicable. These references do not change the rule that the original custodian controls its records.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
